Sonja Hinrichsen made these elaborate snow drawings in Colorado and had them aerially photographed.
Based on 18th century American painting, artist Shawn Huckins interjects modern social media jargon onto his works. Bold and often humorous clips of text messages or tweets are superimposed on figures from the 18th century, revealing our modern obsession with clipped communication within the context of artwork that was carefully created over time. The artist writes “If George [Washington] could comment today, would he click the ‘like’ button, or post wtf? and then go check his Lady Gaga tweet?” (via Hifructose)
